What is Nepotism?

Nepotism is the practice of powerful or influential people giving preferential treatment to their relatives and family members. It is a form of favoritism that often involves a person in power offering a job or favor to a family member – regardless of whether the recipient is qualified or deserving. In the public sector, anti-Nepotism regulations vary from state to state. However, it is legal in the private sector.
