A resolution is a motion that has been approved or passed by the
board of directors during a planned board meeting.
How to Write a Resolution
Follow these steps to write a resolution:
- Include a date, time, and if applicable, a resolution number at the top of the page
- Document all sub-topics of the resolution
- List the names of board members voting on the resolution
- Require the board president to sign and date the resolution
Types of Board Resolutions
There are three primary types of board resolutions, including ordinary resolution, unanimous resolution, and special resolution.
