OnBoard Capabilities Utilized
The Center for Congregations, a nonprofit organization founded in 1997, provides grant funding to congregations across Indiana to help strengthen their communities.
“We know when congregations are thriving, our communities are thriving too,” says the organization’s website.
In 2024, the Center sought a more efficient way to manage its board meetings, leading to the adoption of OnBoard.
Conni Kelley, Finance Assistant and Office Manager at the Center for Congregations, plays a crucial role in coordinating board meetings for 11 members and working with the Executive Director of Finance, Ashley Ivy, and the Leadership Team.
Through Conni’s and Ashley’s efforts, the Center is transitioning to a fully digital board meeting experience, streamlining operations, improving collaboration, and significantly reducing administrative workload.
Before implementing OnBoard, the Center for Congregations considered different ways to modernize their board meeting process. Reports were compiled by one team member and presentations were formatted by another, which was less efficient and more time-consuming.
Ashley had experience with OnBoard through another board and saw its potential benefits for the Center. The board decided to test OnBoard during the November 2024 meeting and fully implement it starting in February 2025.
“This was the least stressful board meeting that I’ve ever had,” Conni says.

Ashley introduced OnBoard to the board with a concise presentation outlining its advantages, including cost savings, improved efficiency, and ease of use.
The board was more receptive to the change than expected, largely due to their trust in Ashley’s leadership. By February 2025, OnBoard was fully integrated, providing a seamless digital experience with all reports, PowerPoints, and agendas in one place.
Key benefits of the transition to OnBoard included:
The transition to OnBoard was smooth and well-supported. The available training resources made onboarding easy, and the team quickly adapted to the new system. By centralizing all meeting materials and allowing real-time updates, OnBoard has transformed the board’s workflow, making meetings more efficient and more productive.
The Center for Congregations’ adoption of OnBoard has significantly improved its board meeting processes. The organization now enjoys a streamlined, organized, and user- friendly system that saves time and enhances collaboration.
With a fully digital transition on the horizon, OnBoard continues to play a crucial role in modernizing board operations for the Center.
